Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I support building new affordable homes downtown and I urge you to do the same on January 14th.
I’ve lived in Menlo Park over 35 years, and raised two kids here. Yet my kids can’t even afford to rent here. Supply has fallen so far behind demand, and I feel that building more affordable homes is the best way to address this crisis.
I know that many people are concerned about how this would change the character of downtown, but I feel that we must take that chance. The status quo is neither sustainable nor desirable.
Please vote "yes" to new affordable homes downtown on January 14th.
