Moving forward to connect and protect our neighbors without the support of the City or the County

Dear Fellow Citizens, I know that you are disappointed that our elected city and county officials have turned their backs on our very successful efforts to organize a Fire District wide neighborhood communication and support network. Only the Town of Atherton has stepped up to this challenge with its superb support of ADAPT. However, our role as Citizens transcends that of our elected officials. We WILL continue our efforts and we Will make a difference. And when election time comes around remember those who supported our efforts - and more importantly those who did not. “Real leadership is leaders recognizing that they serve the people that they lead.” Pete Hoekstra We have resurrected the 2008 Mid Peninsula Citizens Preparedness Committee (a group of Atherton and Menlo Park citizens who created the first Citizen’s Pandemic Preparedness Guide in response to the Avian Flu Pandemic) to serve as an umbrella organization to support and protect our efforts until such time as our elected leaders rise to the challenge. https://mpcpc.org/ I have bcc'd my fellow citizens to protect you from retribution but I have shown the names of our elected officials who have failed us in this challenging time - and of the Atherton Town Council which has showed true leadership. Feel free to share your thoughts with them. Stay Safe and Press On to ensure that neighbors are organized and connected to help neighbors. Peter Received on Sun Apr 19 2020 - 19:35:23 PDT
