Good morning Mayor Taylor and Council members, As a concerned lifelong resident of Menlo Park, I’d like to suggest that the City of Menlo Park consider opening the Bayfront Park soon and implementing “senior hours”. My parents, Carolina and Roberto López, who are also livelong residents absolutely need regular exercise. I am also certain many seniors in the Belle Haven area need this park reopened soon. This park, as you know, has been instrumental for my community for years. As a District Director for a California State Senator, I know first-hand the impact COVID-19 policies are having on our most vulnerable populations, especially elderly, frontline workers and people of color. I suggest creating a system or policy just for seniors. My recommendation is to open the Bayfront Park from 7am-9am and ensure only our seniors have this open space dedicated to them.
