Dear Council Members and County Supervisors, Please deem gardeners as "essential workers" or just allow them to get back to work as soon as possible, as long as they engage in social distancing and wear masks. There are many on NextDoor posting comments with similar views. Please regard them as sentiments of the community, even if they aren't writing in individually. Gardeners don't usually work within 6 feet of anyone, as they are blowing leaves and doing other regular yard maintenance that doesn't require them to be close to the owners or each other. They can definitely practice social distancing, while doing their jobs. In addition, are often the most vulnerable of our communities, considering their income levels. Furthermore, the debris from trees and flowers will continue to gather and create messes that will not easily fit in our compost bins for many weeks after they are allowed back to work, if they continue to be restricted. Thanks in advance for your attention to and consideration of this matter. Sincerely, Sue Liao 132 Buckthorn Way Menlo Park Received on Mon Apr 27 2020 - 19:34:18 PDT
