Menlo Park City Councilman Ray Mueller has requested that the City Council pass a Park Preservation ordinance and ballot measure banning zoning changes at any city park without a vote of the Menlo Park residents.
Ray's proposal is an ideal way to preserve our limited park space in my neighborhood, Sharon Heights.
At this same time, I want to support updating the aging Sharon Heights Shopping Center with housing options and maybe expanding Sharon Green and other apartment complexes near the Shopping Center. This approach could become a real contributor to the Sharon Heights community and make a substantial contribution to the Menlo Park housing availability in all categories.
