To all city government officials,
As a resident of Sharon Heights, I am encouraging you to look again at another location for your low-cost housing project.
My reasoning for this has to do with the elderly using Sharon Park for medical reasons. By introducing a large number of families for residency in Sharon Park, you are endangering the lives of the elderly who need the flat area to walk for their exercise - without the possibility of getting hit by skateboards, bikes, or running children. If this occurs, it could lead to the possibility of multiple law suits against the city. Also, my fear is that the elderly will be driven out of the park - since this is the only flat area in Sharon Heights for them to walk and enjoy nature. As you well know, the terrain in Sharon Heights consists of steep hills. Do not let these special residents down who have supported the city projects with their tax dollars over many years.
I hope you are not considering re-configuring the duck pond or getting rid of it all together ! What specifically are the usage plans for this particular space ?
San Mateo County has a special program, Prescription for Health, that works with physicians who actually prescribe outdoor walking for exercise.
