Closing Downtown Streets

I always walk downtown from my home in Allied Arts. Nevertheless I’m opposed to closing Santa Cruz Avenue and adjacent side streets until the following changes are accomplished: 1. Build parking garages in downtown lots 2. Remove the “X”s that limit on-street parking 3. Improve traffic flow along Menlo Avenue and Oak Grove including a. exiting from the parking lot between Draeger’s and Santa Cruz shops onto University Avenue b. the confusing University Drive/Menlo Avenue intersection c. traffic flow from Menlo Ave and Oak Grove through the El Camino traffic lights Failure to do so will only increase the business blight downtown and further detour automobile and truck traffic onto local residential streets. Stop dreaming and use your common sense. Steve Machtinger, MD resident of Menlo Park since 1980 Received on Tue May 12 2020 - 08:13:58 PDT
