Hello Councillor, I heard that the city of Menlo Park will have a meeting today to discuss the MCC closure. When I told my young son this news, he cried. During those days he stayed at home, what he wants everyday is back to his school. He stayed in MCC for more than two years since he was 18 months. His friends, his teachers are all in MCC. If MCC was closed, I don't know how many families need to make new adjustments. Not only those children, but also many adults if they can't find a preschool for kids. It takes a long time for children to find a new school to adapt to psychological changes. For this age children, the sudden change of friends and teachers will bring them a strong sense of insecurity. In terms of children's mental health, we strongly agree that we maintain our campus and give children a safe environment for growth. I know that finance is important to a city, but protecting the psychological safety of the children in school is the premise of all our work. Please consider this for more comprehensively for those kids. Thank you! Sincerely, Sunny Dai Resident Received on Tue May 12 2020 - 12:19:54 PDT
