Dear city council, i’m a professor at Stanford and both my children go to MCC, we moved here 2 years ago. I’m sure by now you’ve received tons of mails about the fact that closing MCC is a dangerous and counterproductive idea. I’m one more voice that adds to that list and i’ll add a concrete economical example of the reason why. MCC is the main reason we chose Menlo Park as a place to live and i’m sure that we are not the only ones. Choosing to live here affects the local economy: we eat in MP, we shop in MP, we buy gifts in MP, we send packages from MP etc. All of these things would be done elsewhere if MP did not attract us, and MCC is a way to attract people. The cut of 1. something M$ would be a much bigger loss for MP if you look at the global economy, so please reconsider. Do reconsider. best, marco patrignani — Prof. Marco Patrignani http://theory.stanford.edu/~mp Stanford Computer Science Department, USA Received on Tue May 12 2020 - 16:03:54 PDT
