Mayor Combs, Vice Mayor Nash, and Council Members:
Calling all architecture and sustainability enthusiasts!
350 Silicon Valley invites local leaders and residents of Menlo Park to
catch a ride on Caltrain and join 350 Silicon Valley in Burlingame, for a
behind-the-scenes Green Building Tour of the award-winning, sustainable,
all-electric Burlingame Community Center, designed by Group 4 Architects.
Located in Washington Park, the Community Center provides a light-filled
and vibrant community gathering place. Burlingame Council Member Donna
Colson will lead tours. Attendees can also enjoy ice cream and the Climate
Carnival games, and local organizations will be on hand to provide
resources about healthy and sustainable living. The event is free and
family-friendly; register: bit.ly/green-building-tour
Weβre lucky to have in Menlo Park well-planned & thoughtfully designed
civic spaces, such as our own sustainable, all-electric Belle Haven
Community Center. So, we hope you will come experience the Burlingame
Community Center!
And, did you know that September is Transit Month? 350 Silicon Valley is
thrilled to celebrate Transit Month 2025
(sftransitriders.org/transitmonth) with
San Francisco Transit Riders, Seamless Bay Area and organizations across
the Bay Area in celebrating the buses, trains, and people that make the
wonderful transit system we all know and ride. In 2023, 350 Silicon Valley
celebrated Transit Month with All Aboard, Peninsula!, a transit adventure
that started with storytime in Menlo Park before heading up on Caltrain to
San Mateo for an urban scavenger hunt. This Sept 13, we hope youβll catch a
fun and fast ride from Menlo Park and join us in Burlingame!
