Dear City Council members,
As I'm sure you are aware, there have been multiple car/bike accidents and other serious vehicular incidents in Menlo Park in the last few weeks. Yesterday, a child was hit by a car on Santa Cruz @ Arbor and the driver sped away, not even stopping to check to see if the child was ok. A few weeks ago, drivers in both directions were speeding around a stopped school bus that had its lights flashing. Morning commute time, after school let out, and evening commute time demand traffic enforcement (for bicyclists, too).
While we understand that you are re-considering and re-formatting how to fund the Menlo Park police, traffic enforcement cannot continue to be sidelined. Please ACT NOW to support the Menlo Park police's traffic enforcement abilities. We cannot wait for a fatal accident to act.
