Dear City Council,

I have already written an email, expressing my thoughts on the new opening hours of Burgess pool.

In addition to it being crowded, inconvenient and not serving the community, I have learned that a long- time lifeguard will now be looking for other employment because his hours have been cut. This would be a huge loss to the aquatic community.

I saw the increased prices for non- residents but I’m wondering if increasing prices across the board could help alleviate the problem.

The friendships and community we’ve built from going to Burgess pool for two decades cannot be replaced and is one of the reasons we love Menlo Park.

I’m hoping there can be another solution other than cutting pool hours.
