ContraPest - Rodent Fertility Control Solution |…

Dear Council Members,

I recently sent the following email to Reimagine Flood Park. I would appreciate The City's support in requiring The County to reduce and prevent rodent migration into the neighborhoods when construction begins in Flood Park. I believe the County's attempts to eradicate ground squirrels have thus far caused them to simply move as described below. Please encourage deployment of ContraPest rodent contraceptive.

Thank you,

Julie

Dear Parks & Rec,

I live in Suburban Park, a neighborhood adjacent to James Flood Park in Menlo Park. Several years ago my neighborhood and others were innundated with rats by conduction and digging activities related to the Hetch Hetchy aquaduct replacement. Now Flood Park is battling ground squirrels, and for the first time ever I have ground squirrels, along with rats, in my back yard. Of course I'm concerned that numbers of both ground squirrels and rats will skyrocket if driven from Flood Park by redevelopment construction.

Please consider and deploy now ContraPest rodent contraceptive, made by Senestech. I think the methods tried this year to eradicate ground squirrels actually caused migration from the park. Rather than that, I'd like to see the squirrel and rat population controlled and declined in situ, with the aid of rodent fertility control in addition to lethal methods. Even is not all rats and ground squirrels were eliminated, those that remain won't be able to reproduce.

I use ContraPest in my yard along with snap traps, and experience much less loss of fruits and vegetables. Please use it in the Park.

Please respond with your thoughts.

Kind regards,
