Dear City Council,
I am writing to express my concern about the new speed bumps and speed tables on Middle Avenue. The speed bumps in the bike lanes seem very dangerous for bike and scooter riders. What particularly alarms me are the second curbs at some of the speed bumps which I presume are to provide a channel for rainwater, but which seem exactly the width to trap a bicycle wheel of a rider who gets too close to the side of the road.
I am primarily a car driver, and dont necessarily disagree with measures to slow vehicle traffic, but the number of speed bumps seems excessive. I would hope that warning signage will be installed quickly, as well as safer paths for bike lane users.
