Dear Menlo Park City Council: Please direct city staff to take whatever measures are necessary to re-open Burgess and Belle Haven pools, with appropriate social distancing protocols, as soon as possible. Along with many others, I enjoy swimming at Burgess Pool as part of the Menlo Masters swim group. And as one of the founding Board members of Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation, we provide scholarships for underserved youth to learn to swim and enjoy after school aquatic activities at Belle Haven. The latter are especially important as we move into the summer season and kids are out of school and are looking for constructive activities.
