Hello City Council Member Please would you prioritize the opening of the Menlo Park Community Pools ASAP to be in accordance with other counties that have agreed to swim access in venues that meet the current CDC requirements. For the sake of families needing children to cool off and spend excess energy in light of the current summer heat that is just starting. If the recreation budget is hindering the process for pools being opened when there is a safe COVID 19 plan in place, there will be ripple effects to healthcare budgets for mental and physical health services. I swim at the local Burgess Pool in Menlo Park. I am a pediatric healthcare provider and fully aware of the strain families are and have been experiencing in these times. I do not want to be forced to go further afield due to bureacracy and do not believe it to be fair to force the community to seek recreation outside of the county .
