Council members, Hope all is well at your end. As you know, summer is here and it is getting increasingly tough to keep kids busy when everything is CLOSED in Menlo park. There is no reason anymore to close play structures, with even schools opening up. It is about time the city showed some common sense and spared a thought for the kids and parents. By all means if someone feels unsafe they should stay hoe but there is no reason to make everyone stay indoors and deal with restless kids. Many other cities have opened up facilities so I don't see why we don't. About time the city gave thought to opening up recreational facilities. We are paying taxes for these. Maybe families can use one part of the equipment at a time and then clean it (like at a gym). The city's attitude towards this is frustrating. There is NO effort to even try to change things. Not all of us have fancy backyards with playgrounds and our kids are getting restless at home.
