Please join us on Saturday, October 23 @ 9 a.m. to hear from Bill Chiang, PG&E. TOPIC: How we can safely meet our needs during a power outage. Sub topics include power outage safety, where to put flashlights, back-up power supplies, how to safely run on back-up power, creating a power outage plan; rebate programs; and special considerations for electric vehicles. There will be ample Q&A!

Related to our topic, a new law, Assembly Bill 1346, will phase out gas-powered generators by 2024. A recent article in The Almanac gives background. Please also see the helpful information at the PG&E website. Please feel free to forward this email on to your neighbors, friends and/or colleagues.

Update on MPC Ready
The meeting will include a brief update on MPC Ready. Organizationally, we are in a bit of a "holding pattern" pending the outside study on the Fire District's Office of Emergency Management and disaster management in the jurisdictions. The report is due at the end of October and it's anticipated to include findings and recommendations for change. Once received, I will send out a copy of the report along with an invitation to attend one of several "communication" meetings focused on collecting your input into the findings and recommendations, and the next steps for the MPC Ready organization.

If you would like to be removed from this distribution list, please let me know.
