Our membership voted overwhelmingly to defer the COLAs in cooperation with the City. We still maintain that the City is in the financial situation to weather the storm without draconian cuts to the budget and programming. City budgets are moral documents that outline the priorities of the community. It is our continued hope that the City will have the leadership to move through this crisis without laying off dedicated public servants to the City of Menlo Park. By using the financial resources available to the City, we believe that the City will help lift Menlo Park up by doing their part in preventing further economic depression with more unemployment, putting people at evaluated risk of COVID-19 due to their lack of health insurance, and finding creative ways to still provide the services that Menlo Park residence have come to love.
