? Hello, My name is Sughey Contreras, I am a Menlo Park resident who grew up in Menlo Park and I have been part of this community for 25+ years. It has come to my attention that Onetta Harris Community Center (OHCC) in Menlo Park, is set to be closed. I wanted to let you know the importance of this center for my soon to be 7 year old and me as a single mother. The OHCC center has been a great resources for my family and I. Not only has it allowed me to have my daughter attend classes like; ballet, jazz, tap and cheerleading at a lower cost that I otherwise would not be able to afford. But, it has allowed her to explore her talents and be part of Menlo Park’s community. My daughter loves dancing and she is extremely talented and the center has been the place where she has been able to explore those talents, that she would not otherwise be able to explore if it wasn’t for OHC! I am asking that the OHC stays and continues to support the community in the ways that it has! The services offered at OHCC are services/resources that support the community. The OHCC has to stay every child should be allowed to continue to explore their talents and families should continue to be able to have the resources available through OHCC. The OHCC is part of our community and history and I ask that you please keep families like myself in mind when making decisions that will impact our children and community! OHC has been a huge part of my upbringing and so far it has been the same for my daughter, so please allow OHCC to continue to be part of Menlo Parks community! Please I ask that decisions are made in the best interest of Menlo Park’s community and families and not the greed of Facebook and those who have just come into this community!! It is important to remember that there are still a lot of families like myself who can only offer these type of excellent resources to our children because OHCC has made it possible.
