Protect Community Programs in Belle Haven

To Menlo Park City Council members and City Managers, Please protect and do not cut the remaining staff and programs providing the essential services to seniors and most vulnerable citizens of the Belle Haven community. The heroic work needs to be rewarded, not cut to death. Please represent and protect the community that needs the services and your leadership the most at this difficult time. As you might remember last year, over 100 seniors signed a letter imploring you to spare their beloved MPSC from demolition. I wish their voices mattered, and that some creative thinking could apply here. What if the MPSC remained as is, and a portion of the proposed Facebook funds could sustain the dedicated, most appreciated MPSC staff and programs? If you cut more of the staff now, the programs cannot exist, and I hope that is not your intent, which recent decisions imply. With a few million of the $40 million that Facebook plans to give to (an unnecessary) rebuilding project, the most essential services like child care and senior programs could be sustained NOW without cuts or increased rates for child care. My best wishes for your health and work as you navigate these treacherous decisions and times. If I can be of service, please let me know.
