Dear City Council, I wanted to follow up on the proposed Safe Storage ordinance that was the subject of the March 10 and April 21 Council meetings and my comments related thereto. In particular, I wanted to commend Council member Mueller and (perhaps surprisingly) Vice Mayor Combs for their handling of this matter. While it is unclear what decision the Council has reached or will reach, ultimately, Council member Mueller and Vice Mayor Combs considered the matter in the finest traditions of our democracy. Regardless of whether they (or the Council) agree with my objections, the matter was handled appropriately and they are to be commended for seriously considering opposing points of view. Let us hope that, going forward, we can all work to make Menlo Park a better place as we see it. Kudos to Council member Mueller and Vice Mayor Combs for their conduct in this regard and I hope that they will continue to serve the residents of Menlo Park.
