Dear: Mayor Taylor. Vice Mayor Combs, Council Members; Ray Mueller, Catherine Carlton, and Betsy Nash. I am writing to express the disappointment I have with council's decision to cut our Police Department of the many officers and civilians. 10 police officer positions, including 6 layoffs of police officers already working. 7 civilian positions. This include Dani's position and a code enforcement position. Both parking officers, and both community service officers. Do we know the role each position and person plays in the police dept. It seem we picked a percentage number and made a decision to cut across the board. Please take another careful look at what this will do to the welfare of this city. There are many ways and places to cut to balance a budget, the PD isn't one of them. We are in a Pandemic right now, and cutting the very Department we must count on is very dangerous, I ask the council to Please reconsider this drastic cut and make adjustments.
