Hello City Council,
I have been shown a digital, unredacted PDF copy of the petition from someone close to Menlo Swim and Sport. I do not have a digital copy of this petition as I only kept it in paper prior to submitting it to the city on September 25th. So this was done after I submitted the petition by someone at the city.
I would like to know how any city employee thinks it is proper to share this unredacted version
(containing PII of the signers) with the third-party pool contractor.
The city has a legal responsibility to protect the personal data of its residents. Sharing unredacted PII in a PDF document with this pool contractor violates this public trust.
I would like to know the following:
Who released this unredacted copy, and why?
Will there be any consequences for this data breach by the city?
There appears to be a conflict between city management and the public in which there is an improper relationship with city management and the pool operator at the expense of the Belle Haven residents right to have our personal data protected.
