Mayor Taylor and Council Members: Night after night for the past several weeks there has been what sounds like FIRECRACKERS (or gunshots) and at times, sounds of EXPLOSIONS, beginning when it gets dark from approx. 8:30 pm to approx. 1:00 am. Boom, boom, boom OVER AND OVER results in it not only being startling, but keeps us awake, disturbs the pets, angers the children and overall sounds like a WAR ZONE during WORLD WAR II. Is this what MENLO PARK has come to? Is this the NEW NORMAL which feels like an unnerving series of events for hours on end, day after day, with no end in sight? Is this the city you want to be known for? Who would want to LIVE HERE? How many people are thinking about moving away? What impact will this have on downtown business, attracting new employees and overall provide a STANDARD OF LIVING that is negative? You tell me? There are many priorities. I would hope that this URGENT ISSUE is one of them - sooner rather than later. If you feel it is a PROBLEM without an answer, that NOTHING can be done and BLAME is pointed in the direction of others - please say so. The NOISE is intolerable.
