Dear Mayor Combs, Vice Mayor Nash and members of City Council,
I want to provide my support for the approval of the Parkline project.
Parkline has many benefits for Menlo Park, including:
- 800 new homes, including substantial affordable housing needed for
Menlo Park to comply with its Housing Element and avoid future Builder’s
remedy projects.
- Public recreation space for activities
- A network of safe, accessible bike lanes and pedestrian pathways
connecting key thoroughfares across the site
- Sustainable design elements that will reduce carbon footprint, boost
resiliency, and promote long-term conservation
- A 40X increase in property tax revenue from the site which benefits
the community and local public schools
For me personally, as a Menlo Park resident and business owner, the value
of these benefits will be particularly impactful.
