Dear Mayor Combs, Vice Mayor Nash and members of City Council,
The approval of the Parkline project is critical and long overdue. I urge you to approve the project and keep it moving forward. Parkline has many benefits for Menlo Park, including:
1. 800 new homes, including substantial affordable housing needed for Menlo Park to comply with its Housing Element and avoid future Builder’s remedy projects.
1. Public recreation space for activities
2. A network of safe, accessible bike lanes and pedestrian pathways connecting key thoroughfares across the site
1. Sustainable design elements that will reduce carbon footprint, boost resiliency, and promote long-term conservation
2. A 40X increase in property tax revenue from the site which benefits the community and local public schools
For me personally, as a Menlo Park resident and parent, the value of safe bike lanes for students, public recreation space will be particularly impactful.
