Menlo Park City Council,
I urge you to approve the proposed Parkline redevelopment of the SRI Campus quickly.
The plan to add homes for all incomes and abilities and family sizes puts people near parks, public transit, shops and services and award-winning public schools. With 800 new homes, up to 154 of them are affordable through a land dedication to a nonprofit affordable housing developer. We recognize and appreciate the significant increase in number and diversity of homes that was achieved alongside other changes informed by inclusive public outreach.
Some still quibble about the amount commercial space in the project, but the developer presumably believes those spaces are necessary to make the project financially feasible. The Council has taken steps to address concerns about jobs/housing imbalance
