Honorable Mayor Taylor and City Council Members, I would like to begin by thanking you for your innovative and progressive approach to environmentalism in our town. Your Declaration of a Climate Emergency and your adoption of reach codes has not gone unnoticed and has bettered our town while contributing to creating a healthier planet. Despite existing legislation, given that climate change is one of, if not the most, pressing issue of our time, Menlo Park must continue to do more to lead the local fight against climate change which is why I am writing in support of the adoption of a new Climate Action Plan and goal for Zero Carbon emissions by 2030. Again, I thank you for the great work you have done in leading our county in its environmental efforts and I am excited to see the next steps you take to combat this global issue at a local level.
