Mayor Combs and City Council Members,
I strongly support expanding affordable housing in Menlo Park. When
thoughtfully located, it can strengthen our community and reflect our
shared values.
However, our community’s heart is its downtown, and downtown vitality
depends on the public parking plazas. Repurposing those plazas would be a
once-in-a-generation decision with far-reaching consequences.
On such a decision, I believe the people of Menlo Park should have a direct
voice.
I therefore urge you to adopt the *Downtown Parking Plazas Ordinance*,
ensuring residents have the right to vote on the future of their downtown.
