Hi,
Below is a heartfelt message from the former Mayor of Menlo Park’s Sister City, recently posted on his Facebook page.

As we say goodbye to 2021, I want to thank each of you for your engagement and support throughout what was another difficult year.
Once again, we all suffered mentally, many faced loss in various ways and all of us have had to adapt to new ways of living. Rather than wishing you a 'Happy New Year' I just wish you a year filled with hope and peace and together let's believe we can turn the corner on Covid-19 - we are on the path to recovery but we are not there yet.
On a personal note I had the great honour of being Mayor for the first 6 months of 2021 and whilst it was enjoyable, it did bring it's own challenges with covid.
I am proud of my work as your Local Councillor throughout 2021, often some people expect us to be doing the work of a TD who is full time and has the luxury of full time office staff 😜 but overall I am happy that I have achieved progress and improvements in my local area throughout 2021. I am very grateful to the staff of Galway City Council for their help and support to better our communities.
I want to thank Karen and my boys who are by my side 24/7 throughout the good and bad. In 2022, we are here again to serve the city we love, to represent the people of Galway at home and abroad and in every instance try make you proud as I represent you on Galway City Council.
I wish you and your families good health and happiness in 2022, let's hope we are all on a new path in 2022, a pathway to normality as we ring in the new year in a few hours.
Take care of one another ❤
