Mayor Combs and City Council,
I enthusiastically support the Downtown Parking Plazas Citizens’ Initiative.
It seems only fair that for a decision as momentous and far-reaching as re-purposing parking lots for housing, the decision should be left to the voters and be a decision made via the ballot box. Voting against parking lots for housing is not a vote to ban new or low-cost housing. Downtown Menlo is struggling enough, what with a lot of empty stores.
Please vote to make this a ballot initiative so that all of Menlo voters will have a say.
Best wishes, John Mustain, 991 Cotton Street, Menlo Park
