I enthusiastically support the Downtown Parking Plazas Citizens’ Initiative.
As a Menlo Park homeowner and property taxpayer, I strongly oppose the development of low-income housing on our parking lot land. While some cities, such as Portland and New York, may pursue policies that redistribute wealth and community assets to individuals who do not contribute financially, we believe this approach is misguided. We, the taxpayers, the job creators, and the responsible legal citizens, reject this course of action. Instead, we demand the right to vote on such a significant matter and ensure that decisions affecting our community reflect the will of its contributors.
