Sheeper Performance and Future of AquaWellness at OUR COMMUNITY Pool

To MP City Council Members

I am writing specifically to voice my serious misgivings at allowing the current Team Sheeper to continue as our community pool manager unless they address their total lack of services support for those in our community who are less mobile and who benefit greatly from aqua wellness class and therapy options. I was able to significantly improve my everyday mobility prior to the pandemic by attending 3 days of classes/week at the pool (with a renewable quarterly membership). Those classes were full with 15-18 attendees/session M/W/F (3 successive classes each of those days). It is not for lack of attendees wanting these classes to resume that Mr. Sheeper has chosen not to offer them for 2 years.

If Team Sheeper is to continue in his current capacity, and if the pool is to be a true asset to all community members, then these classes MUST be offered as a go/no option to renewal.

Although I continue to do PT, the lack of a warm water pool for whole body exercise has significantly limited my everyday mobility, including several community volunteer opportunities I used to do regularly. Please link approval to a timeline for reinstating these aqua wellness classes at our community pool. I have written to Mr. Sheeper expressing this concern and also applauded his communication that he was ‘in contract negotiations’ with an organization/person to possibly offer aqua wellness in the future. I just want to make sure this happens and his is not just another hollow promise.

Thank you.
