Dear city council,
I’ve written previously to the council and have also voiced concerns in person and in writing to Menlo swim and sport.
The Burgess pool is not meeting ADA requirements, is unsafe and marginalizes disabled people.
As I’ve previously noted: Because of the limited swim times, elimination of the Aqua Wellness program, lack of ADA compliant doors in the building, and zero response to questions about all of these items- it seems that disabled people are not welcome at Burgess pool.
Tim Sheeper is not meeting the needs of the community and is only catering to swim teams and swim lessons.
At the very least, these items need to be addressed before even considering renewal of the contract.
