Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
I am writing to express my support for *pausing further action on the
downtown parking lot housing project until after the upcoming election*,
now that the citizen initiative has been placed on the ballot.
With voters set to decide on this issue, it seems reasonable and
responsible to *avoid committing additional city resources or advancing
major project steps while the outcome remains uncertain*. Proceeding before
the election risks expending staff time, funding, and public attention on a
project whose path forward could change significantly depending on the will
of the voters.
I appreciate comments that have been made acknowledging the practical
challenges of moving forward under these circumstances, and I agree
that *allowing
the democratic process to play out first* is the most prudent course of
action.
Thank you for considering this perspective. I respectfully encourage the
Council to maintain a pause on the project until voters have had the
opportunity to weigh in.
Sincerely,
Collette Seaton
