Dear Residents, Elected Officials and Community Stakeholders,
The San Mateo County Event Center is beginning an important planning effort, and we would value your input.
SMCEC is conducting a Master Plan study to evaluate options for the modernization and expansion of its facilities. The goal of this effort is to maintain — and grow — the Event Center as the leading event center within the San Francisco Bay Area.
As part of this process, we are inviting the community to participate in a short survey that takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. This is an opportunity to share your experience with the Event Center and provide your thoughts on how it can best serve the community going forward. Your feedback will help shape long-term planning, future programming and community priorities.
The survey is available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin and can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LVH3RTZ
We also encourage you to share this survey with your colleagues, neighbors and networks. Gathering feedback from as many voices as possible is critical to the success of this planning effort. Thank you for taking the time to participate and for helping guide the future of the San Mateo County Event Center.
Sincerely,
Mike Callagy (he/him)*

*Here is why I include my pronouns: It’s important to get pronouns correct to support belonging and respect in the workplace for everyone, inclusive of our LGBTQ+ communities. Pronouns are words used to refer to people and are often gendered (such as, she/her and he/him versus they/them). We cannot assume we can tell the correct pronoun for a person. As an ally, an easy way to normalize the use of self-identified pronouns is to include them in your email signature and share them when introducing yourself in meetings. When we normalize the inclusion of pronouns, it will be more affirming for transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse people to share theirs. Will you join me, in solidarity, to include your pronouns in your email signature? For more details on pronouns and how you can be in solidarity with gender diverse and transgender individuals visit: https://www.mypronouns.org/
