*100% AFFORDABLE HOUSING by SOBRATO ORGANIZATION*
A big thank you to the generosity of John Sobrato on providing a 100%
affordable housing development of 120 units in Redwood City (see attached
SF Chronicle article dated March 23, 2026).
I ask myself, why aren’t the Menlo Park City Council members working with
developers like the Sobrato Organization? Instead, the City Council for the
most part, continues to let developers flood the Menlo Park market with
market rate housing providing only the minimum required 15% BMR units.
Additionally, these developers want to build on our downtown parking lots
without paying for the land and then charge the residents for building
replacement parking garages! Thereby increasing the affordability problem
in Menlo Park. What a racket!
John Sobrato is a wonderful example of a big-hearted billionaire willing to
give back to the community.
