Hello City Council,
Attached is the Hybrid Task Force report that details attendees’
experience. This report was shared with other Hybrid Task Force members who
agreed with this assessment and was presented earlier this year.
To sum up - the Task Force essentially amounted to (a) telling residents
that more of our tax dollars will be spent on the current Operator and no
accounting will be provided to substantiate the additional funds; and (b)
letting the residents know that the current Operator is (i) unwilling to
run programs or keep the pool open at the hours requested by residents and
(ii) will not adjust communication methods to ensure the residents are
apprised of the latest offerings and pool hours. Consequently, we’d like
the focus to be on how to operationalize programs and hours that work for
Belle Haven residents, with or without the current Operator.
Earlier today, I also submitted a benchmarking report of other local
facilities and am adding a request for City Staff to complete sections of
the report that I cannot complete because I am a private citizen who is not
a representative of Menlo Park.
