Council Members:
I just wrote the letter below to the Daily Post. I urge you to remember the slogan of the Washington Post, first promoted by Bob Woodward: "Democracy Dies in Darkness."
Please do not burden newspapers with a fee they cannot afford!
Sincerely, Pat Marriott

Since 2005, roughly one-third of all U.S. newspapers have closed. Does the Menlo Park City Council want to drive our local papers out of business by charging them for distribution racks?
In a world where fake news and media bias makes it challenging to learn the truth, were lucky to have many local news sources.
Menlo Park should not balance its budget on the backs of newspapers that are struggling to stay alive. We need them today more than ever.
