PUBLIC COMMENT:
The Path between Alpine and Sand Hill road in MenloPark. My husband and I are in our 80s,our neighbor is in her 90s. Of the 300+households in Stanford Weekend Acres, there are several other elderly people andmany kids who rely on the path to get to Santa Cruz Ave and to the schools.
Years ago, as part of thecontract to provide a right turn fromAlpine to Junipero Serra to benefit Stanford, we were promised a replacement ofthe existing roadside path by Larry Horton, Stanford’s representative, It was poorly designed, not ADA compliant, with no drainage, and predictably has sufferedsevere erosion that the City has basically ignored for decades.
The City’s response was to barricadethe entrance, provide no explanation as to remedial action or alternative, and tostate that nothing is likely until sometime in 2027.
This is absolutely outrageousand leaves hundreds of residents stranded and extremely angry.
