I support protected bike lanes on El Camino Real and urge you to include them in the CIP.
As you know, I most often write to urge you to support and take action to build new homes that are affordable and accessible to people of all incomes and abilities, especially near public transit and within walking distance of essential amenities.
Adding protected bike lanes along El Camino Real will improve bicycle safety and will increase the number of people who feel safe enough to ride a bike instead of driving. The more people who feel comfortable riding a bike on El Camino Real, the more resources can be dedicated to housing people rather than parking cars.
Not to mention that many people already ride bicycles along El Camino Real, and protected bike lanes will make them safer.
