Mayor and Councilmembers,
Wednesday night the Complete Streets Commission, joined by multiple members
of the public, was unanimous in their enthusiasm for bike lanes from Palo
Alto to Middle Ave on El Camino Real. As a resident of Middle Ave, I am
highly enthused by this proposal, having noticed more bicyclists using the
safer bike lanes added to our street. My husband and I both ride our bikes
multiple times a week for work and errands, adjusting our routes to use the
bike lanes where they do exist and would love to see El Camino improved in
Menlo Park.
Northbound, it is very straight forward - there is already no parking and
there is space for a Class 4 bike lane. Southbound would be a bit more
complex, but no less worthy. Please prioritize this on the June 23rd Budget
discussion, to add a quick build bike lane to ECR!
