Dear Mayor Nash, Council members, and City Staff,
Regarding staff report 26-119-CC, I support Option 1: Continue current
design and advance PS&E
With regard to the alternative designs proposed, the community expressed
clear support for the current design -- a raised Class IV bikeway with
pedestrian improvements. And its the only design that is consistent with
the citys policy to provide a "safe, efficient, attractive, user-friendly
circulation system that promotes a healthy, safe and active community and
enhances quality of life throughout the City."
I think we all recognize that creating such a system in this area presents
an incredible challenge; it also comes with a price tag. But it is still
worth pursuing.
I urge you to move forward and preserve the work completed to date while
pursuing all available funding opportunities.
