Dear Wonderful Menlo Park City Council ~
I heartily support including zoning changes in District 1 to allow affordable housing built in the current Sharon Heights Shopping Center - walkable from my home, and my only destination for so many little errands. I’ve longed to have better options there, and am so grateful to think of a bigger base of consumers for the center ~ all of us doing a great job supporting more and better commercial options to support our community!
Additionally, and far more importantly, as my now 32 year old son says, I want to live in a community that treasures all walks of people and the diversity and strength that comes from that Village in which we learn deeply from each other, interacting and supporting each other, for the healthiest kind of community anyone can be lucky enough to live in. I want my mixed race children to be comfortable living and visiting me here, and my grandchildren also - so grateful for this warmly loving community.
Please continue to support this impression I have and long to continue appreciating about Menlo Park and the District 1 area I’m lucky enough to live in. My family and I fully support evolving our community to welcome those who keep this area thriving - not forcing those in service industries to drive hours to get here to make our lives more comfortable. That devastates me, and I’d rather
bump into the lovely woman who helps me at home when we’re walking down the street ~ how delightful!
