Global Warming - For It or Against It

Menlo Park City Council Members:
I read the article in the June 3, 2022 issue of "The Almanac " ' Council Scrutinizes Meta's Quarter - Billion Dollar Plan for Community Amenities in Belle Haven' by Cameron Rebosio. Do you want Meta to take over/ own, the city of Menlo Park? This is a perfect example of how our governments - local and state, supports and nourish global warming/Climate Change.
The effects of Global Warming can be greatly reduced/overcome through, simplicity, common sense, practicality and be done so all can afford it and it becomes second nature. One does not have to be rich, put solar panels on one's house and have an electric car. Use the building code requirements of a house, windows, insulation, thermal mass and the sun. Let the Direct sun light shine in, warm ones house, body and water, dry one's clothes and grow - even cook some of one's food.
As more and more "homes", apartments and businesses are covering our earth, where is our food coming from, and how far does it have to travel to get to the consumer? We have all noticed a big rise in the cost of food over the last few years. We need to start asking ourselves - whether it be a tube of toothpaste, a tee shirt, a pair of shoes a dog or a child: Do I NEED this item, or just WANT it? How is this product made - what materials is it made out of? Who works with the production of this item, and how are they treated? How will this product or being impact our planet?" What happens to it when its usefulness is over?
A common misconception that many people entertain is: "It is OK to be in debt. It is NOT OK to be in debt. If one can't afford something (things and living beings included) financially, physically, emotionally, then don't have it. It is time for all of us , including local, federal and world governments, to constantly be thinking ahead . " How is this action/behavior going to affect others, the community, the state, our planet?" People need to be allowed to be more independent and self-sufficient. One way is to let the Direct sun shine into our homes and property. Cramming apartment buildings, and people, into small spaces does not help people express sustainability. Over populating our cities does not augment a happy, healthy supportive family or planet. On top of that, where are the nonprofits going to go, and the people and animals they help?
As opposed to packing people one on top of another, and preventing people from living in a way that reinforces a well cared for planet, why not encourage people to depend more on the DIRECT sun (a PASSIVE solar system) to meet their daily needs, and support FAMILY PLANNING? There is definitely a need for a change of thought when it comes to global warming. We are either for it, or against it.
Thank you for letting me share these concerns and a different point of view.
