My name is Jessica Haight, I am 20 years old and have been dancing since I was seven. Usually when you go to college you leave the studio but Im going to school locally and Ive been able to continue dancing with Dance Expressions. Dani and Marryanie have been such a crucial part of my upbringing, and as Ive grown, Ive noticed that this is the case for all of their students. They have created such a family like environment that allows you to deeply engage with your passion. This studio fosters creativity, hard work, kindness, and so many powerful tools that help in ones day to day life beyond the extracurricular class. My life would look completely different if it werent this dance group. Ive made so many friends, Ive created so many beautiful memories, and I have become a talented dancer which has given me confidence in a way that I wouldve never been able to have without the class. Today I received an email that the class Ive been taking since 6th grade is not going to be offered this year due to the facility not allowing dance expressions to have their typical dance room. This makes me extremely upset as this year will be my 14th and final year at dance expressions. Loosing the opportunity to dance this year would force me to leave my dance experience at sad and honestly traumatic end. If it werent for this class my life would be chaotic as I have always used dance as my escape and its such an important way for me to exercise happily. I know this email may sound dramatic but it would genuinely break my heart if I was unable to dance this year. I hope there can be solution for continuing this class as it would mean the world to me and everyone on my dance team. Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
