Council Members:
Are you Representatives? Or,
Are you Renegades?
These are just a few photos of the MANY "Save Downtown Menlo" signs posted in our downtown stores.
The restaurants told me : We oppose the citys plan, but we dont want to post a sign in case it offends a customer, BUT they did tell me privately:
"most of our customers oppose the citys plan to change our (their) parking lots"
Listen to the Voters and the Downtown Merchants who DO NOT WANT YOU TO DECLARE OUR PARKING LOTS AS SURPLUS LAND.
Best Advice: The Save Downtown Lawsuit and the Ballot Measure will make your plans "Null & Void"
You will have Wasted Time and Money.
Note: The city is facing continuing DEFICITS and multiple lawsuits.
Therefore:
Unfortunately, IF any council member votes to declare our parking lots Surplus Land, they will be subject to being RECALLED, based on multiple reasons, including their violation of fiduciary duties ( a recall will be initiated, regardless of a council members decision to not run again! )
Please admit your past mistakes:
Meta deal was flawed (non-bonding).
Willow Tower (Builders Remedy).
There is still time to correct the "Downtown Parking Plan" pending mistake;
And start looking at better locations for "State Mandated Apartments".
Respectfully,
Michael DeMoss, Resident
Commercial Real Estate Attorney
Former member of Menlo Park Finance & Audit Commission.
