Dear Council,
I see that funding for an addendum to the Parkline EIR is up for approval
tonight. I am wondering if an updated or amended Financial Impact Analysis
also is being planned. If not. It should be. As you may recall, the net
financial impact of the approved project was forecast to turn negative
within 10 years, and following.
While the Parkline project revisions include more retail that may increase
sales tax revenue the city, the additional homes may increase city
expenses even further, causing a deeper or sooner negative financial
impact. This is important to understand in the greater scheme of decisions
about this and other potential projects.
