The community needs to see the plan again before approval. I would like to know what the shrubs are. The Norfolk Island Pine, Araucaria heterophylla, ( not really a Pine), suggested is not recommended for our Sunset zone. The tree also requires regular watering according to the Sunset Western garden Book and Ornamental Trees by Evelyn Maino and Frances Howard.
There must be better choices. Can the community please weigh in?
The landscaping stops where Bay Road and VanBuren Road split. The sound wall past this split is bare and needs to have vines added as noted on the plan for Haight Street.
The entire length of VanBuren Road has a CalTrans easement and the sound wall past Sevier is covered in vines. Please add this planting to the plan.
The landscaping here is extremely important. This will be “it”. I seriously doubt that any additional planting will coming in the future.
